In this week’s blog of The Laptop Lifestyle, I am going to be sharing the ultimate guide you need to make consistent $5k months and pave the way to becoming a six figure business owner. I wanted to address this and really break it down for you guys because getting to $5k is not about doing more but rather about doing things consistently. I’m super excited to get into this topic and show you the five reasons you aren’t hitting those consistent $5k months in your business.
But before we dive in, let me introduce myself. My name is Amanda Kolbye and I’m the host of The Laptop Lifestyle Podcast and a six-figure business coach and sales queen who helps entrepreneurs create their own freedom lifestyle.
So if you’re ready to build a passion-fueled online business that allows you to live a freedom filled lifestyle, this blog post is for you!
If you’re ready to dive into this blog post and learn more about what you need to do to have consistent $5k months, check out the points I share below!
Reason 1: Why you’re not hitting consistent $5k months.
The first thing that I see holding people back from those consistent $5k months is not niching down. You really need to start small in order to expand and establish your authority. You have to show up to the scene each day and make it known that you’re here by building a lot of awareness. After that awareness is built people will truly know who you are on a deeper level and see you as an authority. In the beginning, a lot of people lack clarity and feel a lot of pressure to choose the right thing or do the right thing. One thing you don’t want to do is stifle your desire and passions. I see so many people start too broad and try to do it all. That’s just not the answer. It’s really hard to become known for something and stand out when you’re too broad. A lot of people are afraid to pick a niche because they don’t want to be polarized. We are so used to being in this mode of looking up to the “higher level entrepreneurs” and waiting to be accepted. This is a huge reason people don’t get those $5k months. You have to rely on your own confidence and clarity. Be okay with standing out, being different, and being known for something. Stop thinking about things so much! It’s not that complicated. Just take action!
Reason 2: Why you’re not hitting consistent $5k months.
The second thing that keeps you stuck is the motto that I like to refer to as “pick and stick.” Once you get your business off the ground and get your first clients, you can start getting impatient. When people don’t see results right away, they automatically want to try something new. Trying new things within your marketing strategy is generally a good idea, but oftentimes it ends up being executed in an inconsistent way. Bouncing around way too much and not actually giving things a chance to work is definitely going to affect hitting $5k months. Whether we’re talking about your niche or a marketing strategy, once you get hard evidence to pivot because something is not working, then pivot! Don’t just keep trying something new every week because things didn’t work out right away. The goal here is to go deep, not wide. It can be scary to commit to this level but you’re going to have to be consistent until you’ve built and established a fully trusted brand presence. You have to dive deep, focus on yourself, your uniqueness, and connect with your specific ideal clients by “picking and sticking” to whatever execution or niche you feel is right for you.
Reason 3: Why you’re not hitting consistent $5k months.
The third thing that I see affecting people from achieving their goals is lack of confidence and mindset state. As business owners, we need to have confidence in ourselves and own who we are, what we offer, and what we’re about. When people start mentally bouncing around all over the place, they doubt themselves and they don’t truly believe that they are a six-figure business owner. The business needs to operate as if it is one, even if you don’t have the evidence yet. If you are acting in the manner of a six-figure business owner, I want you to write down what that looks like to you as a reminder for yourself. Anytime that you find yourself second-guessing, you need to become aware that it’s happening and then redirect that behavior and mental processing.
To do this effectively, you need to have a routine that gets you back in the six-figure business owner mindset. Create “if then” statements to redirect your behavior. Show up confidently and consistently even if you don’t want to. You have to change your attitude to hit $5k months because you’re not in a business to play around. The numbers might not show it yet, but the business you’re running needs to act like a six-figure business. Having that unstoppable attitude is what’s going to help you get to those consistent $5k months.
Reason 4: Why you’re not hitting consistent $5k months.
The fourth reason that I see a lot of new business owners not hitting consistent $5k months is because they get paralyzed by comparison. Once you start your business and get fully thrown into the online space, no matter how hard you try, imposter syndrome and comparison will kick in. Once you finally put up your blinders and focus on yourself, it is a night and day difference. Your business will start to stand out and all of a sudden, you’ll see it skyrocketing forward. We don’t realize how much information we consume every day and how much it affects our mental processing. Whether it’s conscious or subconscious, reading and looking through other information can affect a lot of the decisions we make as business owners. Feeling that comparison can be crippling, therefore you have to put up your blinders because it’s necessary to take the next step.
The other reason putting your blinders up is so important is because you’re trying to establish yourself. When we take in too many bits and pieces from everyone else, we end up losing ourselves. Putting up your blinders should start with limiting your consumption, limiting the things you observe, and being really careful about what you allow into your mind.
Reason 5: Why you’re not hitting consistent $5k months.
Last but not least, the fifth reason you are not hitting consistent $5k months is messaging! If you follow me or are in my Facebook group, you hear me talk about messaging a lot and how important it truly is. At this stage in your business, it is so important to master your messaging because this is the time where you should be nailing it. Once you’ve done a lot of trial and error, it’s about expanding, tweaking, and building upon your message. You’re going to have to do a lot of trial and error if you’re just starting your business to see what works and what doesn’t. Your message is literally what you’re selling. It is all about how you position yourself, how you connect with your audience, and how you uniquely provide value. As business owners, we have to be very intentional about our messaging. Once you understand marketing more, you’ll see it’s about making sure that you have the right message to build an emotional connection and take people on a journey from one point to another.
